Many affiliate and technology partners require tracking scripts to be added to a merchant’s website before they can begin working together. Normally, that means involving your development team every time a new integration is needed. With Insights, AvantLink can manage supported affiliate tracking tags for you directly through our platform, helping reduce implementation work and speeding up activation with participating partners.
What is Insights?
Insights (formerly AvantMetrics) is AvantLink’s enhanced reporting and clickstream solution for merchants. Where standard affiliate reporting shows the final tracked click before a sale, Insights gives you visibility into the customer journey across the referral window, so you can understand how affiliate and non-affiliate touchpoints contribute to conversions, not just who closed the sale.
Insights powers features such as:
- Referral Group Reporting (Introducer, Influencer, and Checkout Influencer)
- Shared and modified attribution models
- Cross-network and marketing channel deduplication
- Expanded clickstream reporting and analysis
- Marketing channel tracking through UTM and AVAD parameters, so you can compare affiliate performance against email, paid social, and other campaigns in one reporting framework
In addition to its reporting and attribution capabilities, Insights includes tag management functionality. Because Insights already sits at the center of your affiliate tracking infrastructure, it’s uniquely positioned to handle affiliate script deployment too, letting AvantLink manage supported partner tags on your behalf.
How Affiliate Tag Management Works
For supported technology affiliates, AvantLink can place and manage the required affiliate tracking scripts through Insights on your behalf. Instead of coordinating a new development project every time you want to activate a partner, your team works directly with AvantLink to enable the integration.
That means:
- Less development workload
- Simpler onboarding for supported partners
- Faster implementation timelines
- Centralized affiliate tracking management
Once enabled, AvantLink manages the approved tracking integration through Insights.
Requirements and Limitations
A few important notes:
- Insights is required to use this functionality.
- Tag management capabilities are available to all Insight users, and any features currently enabled.
- Shopify merchants are not currently supported for this feature.
Less Friction, Faster Launches
Every additional tracking implementation typically creates extra work for merchants and developers. Those delays slow down launches and create friction when evaluating new affiliate technology partners. Tag management through Insights removes much of that overhead for supported partners. Instead of treating each integration as a separate technical project, you work directly with AvantLink to activate supported technologies more efficiently.
